Living our lives for Jesus and walking closely with Him is a joy however when doing so we must remember that our conduct and conversation must be worthy of God’s expectations. When speaking let nothing unwholesome escape our mouths.
Our third commandment, “Do not take the Lord’s name in vain, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.”(Deuteronomy 5: 11) seems to have vanished from society. We hear young people speak in such disrespectful ways using vulgarity and profanity that burn our ears.
It is up to the adults to role model the anticipated outcome demanded by God. We do this by thinking before we speak and honoring God as if He is physically in every conversation we partake in.
If the negative is what comes out of your mouth each and every day no matter the circumstance then it is up to each person to monitor and control their tongue. Once a person begins living and talking with God and building that personal relationship with Him unwholesome talk is not an option as we will want to please Him in every way.
Daniel 9:9 To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, because we have rebelled against him and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by following his laws which he set before us.
Living our lives for Jesus is the ultimate in relationships and creates a new person within us as the Holy Spirit fills our soul with the grace of God. Go forth enjoying life as the person God planned.
Smiles & Blessings,
