Poverty or Wealth

One of the subjects I teach is Human Diversity and Relations with a subtopic on poverty. As I was thinking and praying I realized that there are many types of poverty. Knowing the definition of poverty is: being without, lack of or a deficiency of the basic needs allows my mind to wonder…what life would be like without our Lord and Savior.

We would truly be without the basics of life; that is eternal life. Without Jesus we are not saved nor given the power only He can give. Through our faith we become wealthy in spirit. Walking in love with our Lord is being granted the ultimate in favors.

The joy is we are all granted this favor if we choose to align our lives with God’s commands and follow His directions. Life will never be simple or without challenges; however we are given the formula that keeps us from spiritual poverty. It is through our faith and trust that brings the wealth from God.

Psalm 72:12-13 He will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. He will take pity on the weak and needy and save the needy from death.

We are given life through Jesus Christ and bounty from our Father. Let’s receive the gifts of life and share the joy as we worship and praise God.

Smiles & Blessings,
Cynthia Collins Kaitfors
