There are times when talking with friends or acquaintances they state that the person in their life makes them so happy….they get married and then years or months later you hear…I’m just not happy…I need to move on.
It’s at that moment the person that isn’t happy needs to reflect in the mirror and ask why am I not happy and what is missing. Many do not understand that no one is there to make you happy but you are there to be a great communicator, have understanding and grace that will continue to build a joyous relationship.
Therefore the missing element is God. Many times over it is the lack of a personal relationship with God and Jesus Christ that inhibits our self-satisfaction. Our Lord is our source of joy…we are given all that we need…what a blessing to know our “happy” is given freely through God.
When walking in love with our Lord, He gives us the joy needed to share our lives with others in friendship, compassion and love. Unfortunately society has desensitized the world to think it is ok to move on instead of communicating and sharing the desires and needs to make a relationship be one of joy, which is accomplished with a heart of God.
Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do , work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Begin today by having a heart filled with gratitude for the people in your life, to accept the blessings God pours out to you and know the difference between happy and joy. Happy is fleeting but joy fills your heart and soul.
Smiles & Blessings,
