Raising Our Children

When preparing a meal we make sure we have added all the right ingredients, spices and cooking time. When the meal is finished we present it with love and pride, as we took the time to make it the best…


Are we raising our children with the same love, pride and care? Are we giving them all that is needed to be successful? Hopefully so…let’s remember that being successful is not being rich and famous, however it is being honorable, respected and responsible.


We hear too many times children and adults who are not taking responsibility for their actions or inactions…therefore it is imperative we give our children the strong, solid and sure foundation of God and Jesus Christ.


This is done easily and with love; we do this by taking them to church, enrolling them in Sunday School and reading the Bible to them. We also lead by example; we too join Bible and study groups, follow through with our promises and live by God’s commands.


As we live the life God has planned we are showing our children the importance of living with God and loving Jesus Christ. We also receive the benefits of God’s mercy, grace and forgiveness.


Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.


God blesses us with the greatest gift next to His love and Jesus Christ…our children…bring God’s wisdom and knowledge to each child and watch them flourish under His care.

Heirs of God

When the load gets heavy and you think it is more than you can bear…the Lord is there..
When you try to carry the burdens your selves…it is God who cares…
When all seems to be going wrong it is our Lord who spares…
We are given life and our responsibilities are to share…
Blessed are we who know the Lord and breathe His air…
Go forth with His love and forever be not afraid to dare…
As God is our witness He gives us His mercy that is oh, so rare…
And we are His children and our blessed as His heirs.


Psalm 5:11 Let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice, let them ever sing and shout for joy, because You make a covering over them and defend them.


What a joy to know the Lord, to receive His blessings and walk hand and hand with Jesus. Stay close with God as you spend quality time in prayer, studying His word and enjoying Christian fellowship with family and friends.

Curve Ball

Just when you think all is going well…Bam…someone throws you a curve…what do you do and how will you handle it? Even, if you are strong believer you may have a few moments of negative feelings and will do the self-talk…


What will I do…how will I make it…who will help? Then as person of faith and trust we turn it over to God. What a blessing to know we are not in control. Our Lord knows our needs and through His love and being an active part of lives our situation or problems lessen or disappear completely.


Knowing this allows us to be positive, keep our focus on God and stay in relationship with Him. Too many times through our challenges and struggles we turn negative and spout un-necessary comments that open a window for the enemy. During these times remember to keep your eyes heaven bound and trust.


Ephesians 5: 15-17 Be very careful then, how you live - not as unwise but wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.


Be joyful in the Lord as your relationship with Him continues to grow and develop…we are blessed with His continued love, mercy and grace. Let’s keep the light of God shining for the world to see.

Up Close n Personal

We have all heard the expression “born again”…what does it mean? As I contemplate the meaning it is being aware of a strong personal relationship that is growing as we become more aware of God and Jesus Christ.

There is such a difference between going through the motions as a Christian and having a relationship that affects our lives in a powerful and personal way. We can continue to attend church every Sunday, however if we are not living by God’s commands, continuing our Christian education and loving our Lord we are missing a compelling component to our faith.


Our “Personal Relationship” is finally acknowledging God; some may have it at a young age and some will receive it as adults…the important part is that we do acknowledge it. No one is without the ability to receive God’s power…He will not twist our arms but He waits to be invited into our lives and then with great love our Lord will open our eyes and hearts to His waiting arms.


Let’s siege the moment and rejoice in the power of Jesus as we receive God’s love and closeness. Spend some quality time with God thanking Him for all that we have in our lives, for the guiding spirit that shows us the way and the strength that grows in us through our trust and faith.


Ephesians 3:16-17 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.


Enjoy the season of growth, walk hand and hand with Jesus and feel the love of the Holy Spirit that increases through our devotion to God.

Power of Jesus

Working while loving the Lord is a joy, but working with a team that also loves the Lord is a blessing. Sharing the peace God gives us allows our work place to be serene and tranquil. When things become a little hectic or problems arise it is easily and effortlessly taken care of.


However when all is going smoothly is the time the enemy tries to capsize the unity and ruin the harmony. This is when the devil begins to divide and conquer as he can only do his thing when we begin to get negative.


It is imperative that we as Christians stay strong in the word of God…it is with the power of Jesus that unites us and eliminates the enemy. The forces of evil have no power and no place in our hearts when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, the wisdom of God and the love of Jesus.


Begin each day with a thankful heart…no matter the situation…as God has a plan and through our devotion and trust to Him will we discover what He has waiting. It is like getting a present each day…What will God bring into our life today…what miracle will be waiting for us?


Proverbs 4:11-13 I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. Hold onto instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.


Let’s walk the way of the Lord…sing praises to His name and shine for God.

Step Out In Faith

Living our lives as we always have is living in stagnation…we are not growing and quite possibly we are afraid to move beyond our comfort zone. When living in this tiny box we are limiting God’s favors and blessings.


If this is the day that you decide to move beyond the box…step out in faith, begin doing the “self-talk” and stating the positive. I can do this…I will be successful and most importantly I am walking in faith.


I can do all things through Christ (Philippians 4:13)…God does not want us to fail, but He does want us to believe, trust and hang tight to Jesus. So on this day of stepping out in faith be joyful for this new adventure.


Look forward to your enlarged territories, new environment, and friends or that sought after career opportunity. What joyful times we live in…the heavens await but until then we have God’s promises that all will be taken care of as He blesses our endeavors and faith.


Philippians 4: 4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.


We have no greater joy than knowing that God our Father has laid the foundation for each of us and all we need to do is step out in faith through our trust and love.

He is Risen!

This is the day the Lord has made…rejoice and be glad! What a joy to say those words…We are given so much and on this special day, “Easter” our Lord has risen and given us eternal life!


How do we delight in His love…Express our devotion…Worship His gift? Today let’s embrace the power of prayer and thank Jesus for His sacrifice. It is time to celebrate!


As we worship, pray and grow close to God and Jesus Christ may our hearts and souls be filled with the Holy Spirit and receive His love; as God our Father gives us first hand experiences in His love, brings us miracles daily and enriches our lives.


Matthew 28:5-6 The Angel spoke to the women. “There is nothing to fear here. I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.


Let’s be grateful to our Risen Lord…as we celebrate this miracle from God…Go forth with songs of praise and a heart full of grace and mercy for all.

He Will Reward You

We have all heard the saying, “I was just lucky” or “being in the right place at the right time”…is the way some account for the blessings from God. They believe they worked hard all their lives and accomplished their goals on their own.


The arrogance of that thinking…if we are diligently working with high ethics, values and morals then we are working and serving God. God is not here to serve us be we are here to serve Him.


It should be with great humility that we acknowledge our blessings, opportunities and successes, as they come through God. Yes, we may have been at the right place and the right time but it was because of God that we happened to be there.


God has a plan for each of us and when we stay guided by Him then we are blessed with the good fortune of being a believer. Let’s reform our minds and our thinking in order to follow the Lord.


Our Lord has created us for success…He wants nothing but the best for us and when we keep our focus on Him we are living the life He has planned. Our lives are not for us but to shine for God.


Hebrews 10:35-37 So do not throw away your confidence, it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised. For in just a little while, He who is coming will come and not delay


Let’s keep our light shining for God as we continue with a strong Bible based church, daily prayers, Bible studies and a thankful heart.

Beyond What Is Expected

Have you ever had anyone go out of their way for you…go beyond what was expected…surprised you with extra care and thoughtfulness? Receiving additional considerations or provisions warms our heart which in turn gives us that feeling of being cherished and protected.


When walking in love with God… He gives all that is needed…God so loves us He gave us His son…our salvation is a gift…Jesus did the unthinkable…He died for us! In our everyday thinking it is difficult to understand…How does one give his life for another?


We are not required to go the extra mile…carry heavy burdens or strive toward a unrealistic goal…God understands our limitations and accepts us as we are.


Our salvation is given in love…and all that is expected from us is to follow God’s commands, walk in His ways and to serve Him. This is easily accomplished by loving Him, sharing His gift with those around us and to encourage others by modeling the behavior God requires of us.


Hebrews 10: 9-10 Here I am, I have come to do your will. He sets aside the first to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.


Praising God and sharing the love of Jesus is our gift to the Lord…Let’s rejoice in the miracle of our salvation, be filled with the Holy Spirit and raise our voices as we say, “Glory to God!”

Leave a Legacy

Leaving a legacy is the ultimate in giving our families an inheritance…I do not mean financial inheritance but the everlasting inheritance. It is like the ocean…one ripple makes another ripple which in turn becomes a wave which makes another wave…the same is true in our behaviors and attitude as we affect those around us.


We set the pace of our Godly life…going to church, attending Bible studies (Sunday School), celebrating and rejoicing with our family and friends in Christian fellowship.


Past generations may have affected our lives, our spiritual growth or a growing personal relationship with God and Jesus Christ. On the other hand it may have been just one person who planted a seed in our life that brought God’s love into our soul that has sprouted from the mustard seed..


We now have the same opportunity…are we serving God? Are we planting seeds, watering and nurturing to those around us? God has a plan for each of us…it is that domino affect…reach out and touch another with the love of God and God’s love with grow into that mustard plant.


We are in a season of miracles…Jesus is resurrected…it is time to serve God and know that we are doing His work through our faith…Plant in good soil…reap the benefits as we share the legacy of God and Jesus Christ.


James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.


Share the Good News…Begin serving God and create your own ocean effect.

Repent or Deny

The power of faith will change our lives…how extraordinary is that phrase? Depending on our focus will our strength be. As we are walking through life we make choices…good or bad they are ours to make.


When thinking about the two men crucified with Jesus we can be astonished with the man’s heart on his left who asked for forgiveness and to be in heaven with Him and then the man on His right who scoffed at both of them.


Talk about choices…yet, this is what we do on a daily basis…we either bow or kneel at the feet of Jesus or we scoff at the ideals of God. What fools we can be when denying the sacrifice of our Lord.


Let’s be serious about our faith, be aligned with Jesus and walk in love with our God. Our lives have a purpose and only through our faith and trust in God will we reach that “God potential”. We are given the gifts and skills that fill our soul through His mercy and grace.


Colossians 3:15, 17 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body we were called to peace…and whatever you do; whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.


Allow the power of faith to lead, direct and guide you to Jesus and be prepared for His miracles and love.

Rare Gem

Life through the eyes of a child…it is simple…it is grounded in love and it is all about trust. What happens to those views as the child grows? What causes the worry, the stress and the lack of trust?

Many times it will be dependent upon parenting (or lack of), value systems and a solid foundation in God and Jesus Christ. As we help create a strong bond and establish a heart for God’s commands; all the while investing time and positive energy we show our children our faithfulness to God.


Jesus came to serve not to be served; therefore our purposes are no less than His. We are here to serve our children with the knowledge and love of Jesus. We are to instill the values of God and guard against world views and the corruption of society.


As we give our children the strength to go against negative peer pressure, to stand tall in the face of doubt and to walk strong with Jesus then we have put the armor of God around them. The child then knows he/she is not without the power of God living in their hearts. They are protected!


Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Being a parent is like finding a rare gem when we are blessed with children…let’s engrave God’s love on their hearts.

Weird For God

As we look at society we can see that “normal” is not working…we have divorce, playing married (sexual activity) and following societal views. Many of today’s youth do not have parents setting examples of loving God and Jesus Christ.


Families are so busy trying to get ahead, emulating those in the media or just too busy for family time that morals and values are put on the back burner. Following the commands of God is not a conversation around the dinner table or before the children are tucked into bed.


So I guess the question is…How do we become “weird or extraordinary for God? How do we become enthusiastic for the Lord? Is it simply going to church on Sunday…attending a Bible study or just hanging out with like-minded friends and family?


As parents, grandparents or teachers let’s be “serious” for God…Let’s shine with that inner light God gives each of us and tell the world God is love. God is the way and Jesus is our salvation.


Stayed engaged with God and Jesus Christ as we show our children the miracles of life…that prayers are answered and when in crisis it is to God we turn…Through prayers our struggles lessen, our health increases and our soul is filled with the Holy Spirit.


2 Peter 1:5-8 …make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge, and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.


What a joy to know that we are gifted with the ability to raise a child in the presence of God and Jesus Christ, to give them the boundaries and morals of self-restraint and to plant seeds in the good soil.

Reaching Our Potential

When beginning a new project, stepping beyond the comfort zone or exercising new learning we sometimes hear, “ I just can’t do that, I am afraid to try or I am not qualified”…


Yet, if God has led us to these new adventures, brought us new opportunities or is stretching us for our next journey all we need to do is trust. When walking with God and delighting in His love all that is needed is “faith”.


2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and self -discipline.


Why then do we doubt or become afraid to step out of the box? Why do we become Doubting Thomas’s and need to have proof that we are right where we should be. Following as a child of God is all that is needed; after all God has given us the power.


Let’s enjoy each twist and turn, every antic and jaunt God has placed before us. Before we know it our adventures will end and reaching our potential will be missed. Whether we are 9 or 99 we have time to meet God’s purpose.


Step out of that comfort zone with a smile, self-confidence and joy…

Like Minded

When you put two like-minded people together what are the results? Many times it is laughter, great conversation and the love of God fills the room. Today was just that…while working on a project with a girlfriend we reminisced about years ago and how the Lord has taken each of us on a journey.


In many ways our quest has been distinct and soul searching. We have watched our children and now grandchildren grow, develop and strive toward their God given potential. We have prayed for each other’s family and found joy in our constant Christian friendship.


God gives us so much and relationships like this are surely from Him. He surrounds us with God fearing and Jesus loving people all while building our faith…This must be a glimpse of heaven…earthly Angels that delight in shining for God.


I pray you are in connection with friends who love the Lord and show that inner light that can only come from God. He blesses us with a bounty that spills over to friends. Go forth and glorify His name.


Philippians 2: 2-4 Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.


Share the word of God with friends, continue building your faith through trust and develop a strong personal relationship with the love of Jesus and the “Golden Rule”.

Spiritual Poverty

Living in poverty many times means living without hope. It is survival of the fittest and aggression is the way of the street. Becoming soft is a weakness and living with a dream is laughed at.


Unfortunately many children are living without the knowledge of God or the love of Jesus in their hearts. Countless are living in spiritual poverty. They are learning to get along to stay strong, be loyal to be safe and join gangs to survive.


A family does not need to be below poverty financially to be living in spiritual poverty. Children are affected just as deeply whether there is money in the bank or not…the wealth is from God.


Raising our children with a heart for God and a love for Jesus allows them to grow and mature into the riches of God’s glory. Let’s bring our children out of that spiritual darkness and begin investing in their inheritance.


Psalm 40:16 Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad because of you. Let those who love your salvation continually say, “The Lord is great!”


What a joy to know we bring God’s wealth to our families; through prayers, Bible studies and continued Christian fellowship. Rejoice and be glad.

Good Enough?

As we grow in spirit, knowledge and wisdom we are comfortable with who we are…however when walking with society rather than God we are never quite good enough. We need to be thinner, smarter, better looking or richer in order to size up to be the “best”.


How sad is this mindset? Being who God made us to be should be the ultimate, not who society thinks is the best…we are so easily swayed with world views and if not raised with the sure foundation of God and Jesus Christ our families and ourselves will suffer.


Staying in a relationship with God and building that personal connection with Jesus is the all-powerful and mighty liaison that brings us to the Lord. We are at ease with who we are…we are at peace with the person God has planned for each of us.


Praise God for the gifts, skills and talents that blesses each of us and be thankful for all we are given. Allow God’s goodness to seep into our soul and be prepared for the miracles growing in our lives.


Psalm 125:1 Those who trust the Lord are like Mount Zion, which can never be shaken. It remains firm forever.


Stay strong in God’s foundation; keep your eyes focused on our Lord Jesus Christ and praise His name with song and prayers.

Attitude of Faith

Believing in our Lord when we cannot see the road ahead is living in total faith…Life is constantly changing; evolving and growing…we have opportunities to find the good in each new possibility and be thankful for prospects that God brings our way.


Looking at life with the exuberance and excitement of a child makes living an adventure…we are able to turn a situation from drama into a joyous voyage when walking in Christ. It is the mindset of no matter what life is throwing our way we will find the peace in each new trial and challenge.


It isn’t perplexing or bewildering how negative thoughts or lack of belief can disrupt our focus from God to I am not sure I can make it, but it is our constant trust, strong meditations and passionate prayer commitment that keeps us from going wrong.


Our Christian attitude is all about faith…keep it focused on our Lord and remember to be a dazzling and brilliant light shining for God.


Hebrews 11: 1-2, 6 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see…And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.


Go forth believing, searching and loving the Lord.

Prerequisite to Heaven

When discussing life and struggles one can only imagine that going through the process of living is the prerequisite to heaven…We must do A, B and C to obtain the goal…heaven.


Yet, God tells us that our belief, our trust and our love is the magic formula. We must believe in Jesus Christ the son…the gift of eternal life…and all else will fall into place. It seems so simple…we can live our lives, accomplish our goals and no matter how we attain all this we have fulfilled our prerequisite to heaven.


However, achieving our goals, enjoying our lives while striving toward life eternal is accomplished by living authentically and consistently in God…when doing this we have a mindset designed after God’s heart and we will not live outside the limits of our Lord.


So in all actuality we do have a prerequisite upon entering those pearly gates…Believe in Jesus Christ, follow the commands of God and allow the Holy Spirit to fill our souls as we walk in the light of God.


Psalm 80:18-19 We shall not turn back from you; give us life, and we will call upon your name! Restore us, O Lord God of hosts! Let your face shine, that we may be saved!


Reaching for the ultimate goal “life eternal” is given freely from God and Jesus Christ…will we accept the gift…live in love while we fulfill our prerequisite to heaven? Let us go forth with the joy of knowing God, praising Jesus and feeling the love of the Holy Spirit.

Family Time

While playing at the park with my granddaughter it was a joy to see so many families outside enjoying quality time. Daddy’s were playing tag, pushing the swing or monitoring the slide n climb area. Mommies and extended family were preparing the food while others started up the barbeque.


Having that quality time…one on one…breaking bread together…is a thank you Lord time. When living a life of excellence and obedience to God our lives become more meaningful and satisfactory and our Lord blesses our activities.


And yet, life can be distracted from what is important for our families and us by allowing world views or selfishness to come before God. God is our ultimate family member and having quality time with Him is the day’s blessing.


Let’s lovingly plan to spend time with God and Jesus Christ. Bring the glory of God into your family, which allows God to bless your endeavors and keep you from societal views which may damage your time spent with our Lord.


Proverbs 3 :3-4 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.


Being a role model for our children and grandchildren is an investment that cannot be wasted; we set the standards for our families and the goals of an earthly life that leads to our heavenly life. Loving God and being in His presence guides us to fulfillment, contentment and joy.


Praise God, rejoice in our Lord Jesus Christ and be filled with the Holy Spirit during your “quality time”.

Obedience

There are days it is much easier to trust God than others…it is when all is going right; and we feel comfortable, safe and secure. On the other hand we need to trust when all is falling apart, feelings of insecurity and safety are issues.


Jesus’s first miracle was done out of obedience…His mother, Mary tells the servants to do whatever He tells them. They were to fill the pitchers of water and serve them as wine…talk about stepping out in faith…


We too are given that message…do what God tells you…no questions asked. Are we able to keep world views and societies moral compass out of our line of vision? Being a strong follower of Jesus and trusting God is a struggle for some.


The answer is loving God with our whole heart, being thankful for all we have and to grow in faith through prayer, Bible studies and continued Christian fellowship. We are blessed with the power of Jesus through our belief, our commitment and our love.


1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s might hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.


Walk in obedience to God’s call…allow Him to embrace you with His love and be filled with the Holy Spirit as we grow in love for Jesus

Faith is Simple

When things get tough people may say, “Keep the faith”…and we respond, “Yes, I am. When making that statement with positivity and power it is easier to keep the faith. It becomes easy due to the strength God will give knowing you are walking with Him.


It is a time of filtering the media, the negative news and pessimistic people who infect our bliss. Losing even a small fraction of joy affects not only us but everyone in our circle of family and friends.


We must be smart…faith is simple…Trust! When we trust God even though we are going through difficult times our burden lessens due to the love of the Lord. He will not abandon us or neglect our needs. He knows our sorrows and disappointments and as our Father He wants nothing but joy for us.

Psalm 25:4-5 Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.


What a blessing it is to enjoy the walk of life with God and Jesus Christ as it gives credence to our existence. 0ur lives are enriched with a personal relationship with the Lord and this relationship brings power into our souls.


God allows free will…let’s make our choices aligned with Him.

Positive Mindset

A new day brings either the joys of the heart or the negative it is our choice. As we approach our life’s desires it is imperative we are aligned with God and His love, mercy and grace.


Our thoughts dictate our lifestyle so we must be the overcomer not the victim of world views. Opening our hearts to God avails us to His kingdom…the earthly one for a time and a heavenly one for eternity.


What a joy to know that life is sweet along with the sour, however we would never know the difference without the trials and tribulations that bombard us in order to ruin what God has planned.


As we go through the day let’s remember to have a clear mindset on the importance of a Godly life. Walking in love with Jesus and being filled with the Holy Spirit. It is in His glory that we are given an opportunity each day to serve Him.


Psalm 106:1, 3 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever…Blessed are they who maintain justice, who constantly do what is right.


Let us share His love with those around us by shining for God through our speech, behaviors and attitudes. Praise God.

Need to Move On

There are times when talking with friends or acquaintances they state that the person in their life makes them so happy….they get married and then years or months later you hear…I’m just not happy…I need to move on.


It’s at that moment the person that isn’t happy needs to reflect in the mirror and ask why am I not happy and what is missing. Many do not understand that no one is there to make you happy but you are there to be a great communicator, have understanding and grace that will continue to build a joyous relationship.


Therefore the missing element is God. Many times over it is the lack of a personal relationship with God and Jesus Christ that inhibits our self-satisfaction. Our Lord is our source of joy…we are given all that we need…what a blessing to know our “happy” is given freely through God.


When walking in love with our Lord, He gives us the joy needed to share our lives with others in friendship, compassion and love. Unfortunately society has desensitized the world to think it is ok to move on instead of communicating and sharing the desires and needs to make a relationship be one of joy, which is accomplished with a heart of God.


Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do , work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.


Begin today by having a heart filled with gratitude for the people in your life, to accept the blessings God pours out to you and know the difference between happy and joy. Happy is fleeting but joy fills your heart and soul.

Nothing is Better

God gives us the gifts and skills to succeed in our endeavors as He wants us to enjoy our lives, rejoice in each day and strengthen our faith through trust. Trusting God and all that He says should be easy, however the world views cloud our judgment.


We are able to make decisions according to God’s will yet we allow society to dictate what is acceptable and what is not. Living our life with God’s wisdom is done through humility and graciousness.


Accepting His commands knowing that we are turning from world views is the wisdom we acquire as we mature into strong Christians. It is no longer what the world thinks is important or successful but what God has deemed good and relevant to our lives.


Ecclesiastes 8: 15 I command the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun.


Choosing God’s way keeps our minds on His path with all the joy and blessings to a life filled with happiness.

Positive or Negative

Some days it is harder to find the joy…you fill overwhelmed, an illness clouds your vision or you feel your choices have been eliminated. It is at these times that we hold tight to our faith.


It is all about attitude and how we think…I can remember my dad saying “no stinking thinking”…I used to laugh at this when I was younger but how true are those words. We are what we think.


If we believe nothing will turn out for the better, that all is lost and we will never be successful…then chances are we won’t. It is through that positive attitude that builds us up and lifts us out of the negative thinking.


God is our positive force in our lives. He wants nothing but the best for us and our postive attitudes toward life, faith and actions will allow God to work on our behalf.


We hear all the time that “if God is for us…who can be against us”…We are able to accomplish those dreams and desires no matter our health, feelings of being overwhelmed or missing that window of opportunity.


God will open a door... all we have to do is listen, be patient and follow His path. What a blessing to know that we are children of God and His love will encompass our lives.


Psalm 138:8 The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.


Find the joy in today and know that His love, mercy and grace is the way.

Never Alone

Many years ago I was beginning a new life as a single person…my sons were grown, living on their own and I moved into a townhouse. For the first time in my life I was the only person living there.


Several months later a very dear friend asked if I was worried or concerned living by myself. It was at that moment  that I realized I had never been alone. No matter the circumstance I had not once been fearful or worried…I knew God and His Angels moved in with me.


The revelation was an awesome and wonderful feeling. I truly was not alone…I had never been alone. Our God so loves us that He fills our hearts with His wisdom, grace and mercy. Living in trust, growing closer to God and building that personal relationship is all that He asks.


Psalm 130:5 I wait eagerly for the Lord’s help, and in his word I trust.


Knowing that God only wants us to love, grow in faith and seek His way is accomplished by opening our heart to God. Meditate, pray and worship our Lord and Savior…Sing praises to His name and be thankful as we are blessed with each new day.
