When listening to people talk about their personal or career lives I find it interesting to hear their point of view of the term “success.” Many times it is an overabundance of money, big houses and fancy cars. We must be workaholics to be in the successful category...but how does God want us to define success?
I believe when raising our children it is important to instill God’s point of view. How God defines success... His thoughts are not of money, houses and cars but loving each other, being honorable and having a constant faith in our Lord.
It seems simple enough, yet if we do not encourage values and ethics our children will grow up believing success is more than faith. Now I am not saying working toward a career that increases our wealth or allows for fancy cars and homes is wrong, but what I am saying is that it should not be the overwhelming factor that produces a wealthy outcome.
God will supply our abundance and open doors that He has planned for us. He does not want us in need, struggling daily for a roof over our heads and food on the table; however He does want us to trust Him with the details, therefore continue to faithfully and persistently pray for God’s mercy and grace…all the while enjoying the blessings He has bestowed on each of us.
Proverbs 20:11 Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right.
Let's be thankful and praise God with our hearts and let the world see our inner glow that we receive when walking with our Lord. Continue to honor God and live by His standards; as our children observe our choices and follow our paths.
Smiles & Blessings,
